We Melburnians are rather lucky: there are so many stunning weekend getaways from Melbourne to take advantage of. And to help you plan an escape from the city, I’ve found some of the best Airbnbs in Victoria, Australia.

There’s so much to explore in Victoria. So, whether you want to escape to the country or the coast, whether you’re craving a romantic weekend or taking a break with the family, there’s sure to be something in this list to suit your tastes and budget. Many are also pet-friendly, so you can bring along your furry friend to keep you company on your weekend break.

The house itself is bright and spacious, with a huge backyard with both grassed areas and a deck. It also sleeps 9 people, so it’s great for a family getaway. There’s AC and a fireplace, along with a BBQ.

I love the look of this cosy, stylish cottage in Forrest. I can imagine myself reading a book in front of the fireplace while my husband is off mountain biking the nearby trails.

There’s two bedrooms, a spa bath, a tastefully decorated and functional kitchen, and a back deck with a BBQ.

It’s close to the Forrest Brewery – you can walk there! – and everything that this fun little town has to offer. Forrest is high on my list of places to visit in Victoria. Tucked just off the Great Ocean Road, it has great restaurants and cafés, and easy access to the Great Otway National Park.

The owners say that it’s not 5-star but it’s pretty close. There’s a claw-foot bath, a wood-fired heater, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and juicer and plenty of garden space.

There’s a sister property that’s smaller (sleeps 6) and it’s an old steam train carriage! You could also rent out both properties if you have a group of up to 14 people.

This huge barn wouldn’t look out of place in the United States. But it’s here in Victoria and inside it has been stunningly refurbished into a comfortable and unique place to stay.

It’s located on a 6-acre property and is close to Heathcote (and its famous bakery), several trails and wineries.

There’s a cosy living area with a wood fireplace, a kitchen, BBQ and plenty of books in the library.

The main bedroom is upstairs, so keep in mind that there are stairs to climb. It’s also worth noting is that the bathroom is attached to the outside of the barn, with the toilet in a separate outhouse. Sounds like a nice mix of rustic and comfort in this great country Victoria accommodation option!
